Verified Reviewer |Incorrect Paperwork, High Pressure Threatening Calls/texts to sign before seeing it
I recently attempted to purchase a 2025 Thor Tranquility 19A from Motor Home Specialist RV (MHSRV) in Alvarado, TX for an agreed-upon price of $103,000. Unfortunately, my experience with the MHS RV dealership was deeply disappointing and unprofessional on multiple levels.
Incorrect paperwork, threatening calls, and texts ultimately led to the distrust and cancellation of viable sale.
Although we reached an agreement on the sales price, the DocuSign paperwork provided was consistently inaccurate. Despite multiple revisions over the course of 89 days, the purchase price and applicable state sales tax were repeatedly incorrect. Even once the sales price was finally corrected, the sales tax remained wrong, and a previously undisclosed fee appeared in the latest version of the paperwork.
From the beginning, I communicated to the salesperson, Mitch, that due to a medical appointment, I would not be able to travel until around July 5. Although I rearranged my schedule to possibly arrive earlier, the paperwork remained incorrect, which prevented me from moving forward.
I was not willing to drive over 1,200 miles without finalized and accurate documentation.
Throughout this process, I received numerous calls and texts from Mitch, Chris, and Brian. I repeatedly requested final numbers, yet was only provided with a vague monthly payment figure, which did not align with my calculations. When I asked for clarification, I was met with resistance and a refusal to provide a breakdown of the numbers. I also informed the team that I intended to increase my down paymentafter which communication ceased entirely, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and proceeded to plan my 1200+ mile trip to Texas.
At this point, I believed everything was progressing appropriately and was leaving the next day.
Subsequently, I began receiving calls and texts from Mitch and Robert (Cowboy), the sales manager, pressuring me to sign the DocuSign immediately or risk cancellation of the saleeven though I had already placed a deposit one week prior.
The high-pressure tactics employed by the MHS RV team were not only inappropriate but deeply concerning. I made it clear to multiple team members that I would not finalize the purchase without seeing and test-driving the vehicle. The insistence that I sign without viewing the unit raised red flags about the vehicles condition. I requested to have a certified, third-party RV inspector review the vehicle before proceeding.
Although Robert initially agreed, he quickly reversed his position when I scheduled an inspector to visit within 48 hoursrefusing to wait and insisting the deal would be canceled if I did not sign the same day.
To make matters worse, Robert suggested using an in-house inspector, which I declined to avoid any conflicts of interest. He also stated that my deposit would remain refundable pending inspection, yet the DocuSign clearly indicated otherwise. As a legally binding document, the written contract would override any verbal or textual assurances.
Despite my efforts to work cooperatively and professionally, I was met with escalating pressure, inaccurate paperwork, misleading communication, and ultimately, a complete breakdown of trust. When I finally informed Robert that I no longer wished to proceed with the purchase, my deposit was refunded within minutes, suggesting he may have anticipated or even intended for the deal to fall through.
Additionally, I was copied on internal communication instructing staff to prepare financing paperwork based on incorrect figures, despite my repeated clarification that I planned to put down approximately $47,000not the amount they documented.
At no point was I provided a proper breakdown of the financing terms or monthly payment, even after Robert stated he would have Chris send it over.
This entire experience, which spanned approximately two weeks, was riddled with administrative errors, high-pressure tactics, and an unwillingness to work transparently or in good faith. It left me feeling misled, pressured, and ultimately relieved to walk away before making a significant financial commitment.
Of particular concern is the fact that I was told I could not use a specific inspector due to a prior disagreement with dealership staff, and that only approved inspectors would be accepted. This raises serious questions about the impartiality of any inspection conducted on your terms.
As a military family, we are particularly sensitive to ethical and transparent business practices.
Based on this experience, I have submitted a recommendation that MHSRV be added to the Military's Commercial Ban List to prevent other service members and their families from enduring similar treatment.
This was a missed opportunity for a successful sale to a qualified and serious buyer. I sincerely hope you take this feedback to heart and consider the importance of honesty, professionalism, and customer respect in all future interactions.

Verified Reviewer |Misrepresentation
We flew down expecting to get a walk through on our new class C motor home and then spend the night in it and head home in the morning, didnt happen, glass on entry door was gauged with multiple marks, front fiberglass cap had spidering in three spots, sewer hose compartment was missing bracket, large smear of something on counter top, alarm going off on test drive, window sticker glue not removed on windshield, they kept my 3K deposit, in the process of opening a investigation, learn from my mistake!!!
- Cheaper than hometown dealers
- Horrible misrepresentation of rv
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Run Run Run, stay away from these dishonest salesmen!!!

Verified Reviewer |The worst decision we have made was buying a Bounder and thinking that Motorhome Specialist service would take care of us.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE!!!We bought a Brand New 35K Bounder. What a disaster this has been.
The dash on this motorhome shakes so badly that the screws are breaking off. It is so loud that we cant even talk. It throws my husbands phone off of its holder. It leaked in the bathroom around the vent.
The windshield wiper blade fell down in pouring down rain. We took it Motorhome Specialist to get everything fixed, which they assured us they would do. It ended up costing us $2000 even though the motorhome is under warranty less than a year old. Their solution to the dash was Velcro!!!
lol!!!They charged us for sealant around the vent even though we keep it under cover. This place is the biggest joke around !! And the Bounder is horrible too. Never never again!!!
Its bad enough that this coach is of horrible quality but the place we bought it from wont even fix it either.
They are terrible too. So disappointed in everything about this situation.
- Good prices and selection
- Horrible service and full of lies
Preferred solution: The motorhome fixed at no charge.
User's recommendation: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!! And don’t buy a Bounder either !!!

MHSRV has whatever you are looking for in an RV.
Brandon is exceptional at representing the dealership. He was responsible for teaching us about our new vehicle.
He didn't mind going so to make sure we understood all the ends and outs. He was professional, polite, funny, and knowledgeable.
Brandon answered every question we had and didn't mind going over any of the material more than once. We deeply appreciate all the help that was given to us and the willingness it was given.
User's recommendation: Use Brandon for the class.
Dreadful after sales warranty service
This place has had my Integra for over 6 months during my almost 3-year ownership. Only one of the warranty repairs has now been completed - we finally have a new water heater.
This after the service general manager was loudly berated for his incompetent manager Justin Pongratz. This man never returns calls, does not check emails and relays only the minimal "fixes" to his technicians who tell me they have strict instructions to only fix what is relayed, regardless of what they see that needs fixing. Mr. Stephan Evans is the "big boss" who tells me Justin is his best service manager.
If this is his best, I hate to think what the worst is. Our biggest warranty issue is still the stink from the bathroom. There is a problem with the vent stack that we have experienced from the day we first took the RV out. Twice we took it back after their claims of "fixing" it but the problem was still there.
Both times they returned the RV back to us with no change after several months of doing nothing so we could undertake preplanned and paid for trips. After the most recent one, we were then told the stink was our fault for overfilling the black tank, voiding the warranty. Not true since the stink was a problem long before and tank issues. MHS has the cheek to then say they are hamstrung because the manufacturer denies warranty issues.
If the issues are relayed to the manufacturer as poorly as they are relayed to the service technicians, then it is no surprise the manufacturer cannot make an accurate determination. My advice - do not buy your motorhome from these people. They do not care about their customers, they are incompetent at all levels, and they will keep your motorhome for months doing absolutely nothing. We had one trip where we went to fetch it after they claimed to have completed all the work, and on a walk-through even they admitted nothing had been done.
We then had to wait at the service department while they at least changed the oil in our generator.
They then said they would not charge us since we had to wait and thought that this would be considered good customer serve. What a bunch of incompetent hacks.
User's recommendation: Avoid Motorhome Specialists at all costs!!

Verified ReviewerCowboy is incredible. I'd highly recommend MHSRV!
Just picked up my new Dynamax Europa from MHS. Fantastic experience with Cowboy.
Man that guy goes above and beyond. The technician that did our demo took over 2 hours and didn't seem to rush us.
Pleasantly surprised! I'd highly recommend.
User's recommendation: I'd highly recommend MHSRV!
Customer service
We bought a 2014 THOS ACE in October. We were told that if we gave them 5 stars we would get free stuff at the store on the day we received our rv.
Here it is January and we dont have our title or our license plates and they are out. We cannot drive our rv due to this.
We have called and were told we would get an email with a new license plate. We havent received the email a week later.

Verified Reviewer |Poor service from MHSRV Alavardo TX
MHSRV of Alvarado, Texas, knowingly sold and allowed an unsafe vehicle to leave their lot. Based on their own declaration to me when I asked if MHSRV performed a full check of all RVs, including the Thor Outlaw motor home we purchased at the point of receipt from the manufacturer, and prior to the sale and release of all RVs, including the Thor Outlaw we purchased, they definitively stated, 'Yes, those are definitely performed.' The Thor Outlaw motor home sold to us and allowed to leave your facility did not have a working left tail, brake, and turn signal and functional and safe gas lines and valves.
If their records show any indication of a passing result, then those records have been falsified since the defects identified were present prior to turning the RV over to us. When we finally received a response from a lower-level service rep, he stated that we will need to directly address this problem with the manufacturer. MHSRV completely washed their hands of any accountability or responsibility for the unsafe RV they sold. The walk-through of the RV performed with a Sales Representative prior to taking possession of the RV was very minimal, somewhat uninformative, and did not include any elements of equipment safety validation.
These couple of issues were just the start of a long list of defects we found upon taking possession of the RV. There was a list of 10+ defects, including a Check Engine warning light that was identified shortly after departing from MHSRV and presumably before leaving the MHSRV location, for which they told us to just take it to a Ford dealer after getting to OKC. We were so uncomfortable with the safety of the RV that we had Bob Hurley RV in Oklahoma City perform a full all points (SWAG) inspection of the RV. The inspection identified a leaking propane valve and pinched gas line at the cooktop, which rendered the cooktop inoperable.
These were two significant safety defects that should have been identified by MHSRV prior to sale and unquestionably present prior to the sale of this RV to us. We were without our RV for almost 2 months while all the defective items were being fixed.
We have not yet received a word from the MHSRV General Manager/Sales Director or the Service Director on these issues, nor from Blue Compass RV, their parent company. I would never purchase again from MHSRV, or any Blue Compass RV dealership and I strongly recommend against anyone else buying from them.

Verified ReviewerPeeling paint insurance job
They take your insurance money then hold your RV for 6 months not responding. Then tell you its ready and you drive 5 hours for a terrible paint job.
Then you come back two months later and its worse than it was the last time. They give us an inflated bill and bad work.
This place is a total sham! Buyer beware!!!
We purchased a motorhome May 2, 2024. We still are not able to use it because it is in the shop for warranty issues.
It is going on three months since we purchased this new motorhome and we are still unable to use it because of power board/battery/solar panel/AC/leaking problems! Still waiting for diagnosis, parts, and repair!

Verified ReviewerTerrible service department
Terrible service for warranty work. I didn't buy my mh to work on it, but to enjoy the outdoors and the people we meet .
I wish I had not bought one but from what I've read the service departments at most rv dealerships are Terrible.
It does no good to complain about it as the manufacturer is not concerned about how the dealerships treat customers as long as sales are good. SHAME ON YOU THOR AND MHSRV.
- Great prices
- Terrible service after sale
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered
User's recommendation: Just know going through with your purchase with them is no guarantee of service as valued customer after the sale

Warning people of deceptive sales practices
We bought a class B motor home from Motor Home Specials . I ask if it had a generator on it .
It didnt. I was told by the salesman Osker Marks I didnt need it because it had this great lithium battery system that would run the AC for 6 hours and when the batteries got to 40% the motor would start. It had a separate 280 alternator that charge the batteries. After I got home with it I tried it .
It ran for 1 hour . Motor never started. I called them they told me it would be November before they could look at it . After arguing for a while I got it in in 2 weeks.
They keep it for a week. Then called me and told me I didnt have that system. I was told sorry we thought they all had that great system. Told me I could trade it in on a used one but I would have to take a 35000.00 dollar loss because they need to make money off that RV when they resold it .
They would have to make money on the use one I was looking at . I have since learned that is just the way they do business. They service department want even call me back to answer questions.
Stay away from this place they are crooks. Steve
